It all began on 2012 , when a young Team from BRAC University become 12th on NASA's Annual Lunabotics Mining competition and also become the best robot in Asia!! This was the inspiration that kick-started the idea to form a club, only dedicated to Robotics Reaserch in Bangladesh.

PathFinder

PATHFINDER is an intra-university competition where students from all around the university will have a chance to prove their skills in robotics. This is a competition of line-follower ROBOTS where students make their robots to follow a certain line within a short period of time. Robotics Club Of BRAC University[ROBU] is arranging this competition for the 4th time in order to promote robotic technology among the students.

Advisor

Dr. Md. Khalilur Rhaman is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering and Computer Science of BRAC University, Dhaka. He is the Supervisor of BRAC University Robotics lab and the advisor of BRAC University Robotics club. The robot named CHONDROBT was designed and builds under his supervision. Different version of this Robot was regularly attending in NASA Lunabotics Mining Competitions. Dr. Khalil completed his Ph.D. from Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. His Ph.D. Research topic was Natural Language Processing but now his research is diverted into Robotics and embedded systems. His research interest also includes space science and engineering. Dr. Khalil would like to express himself as a lifetime student of Engineering.

Currently working as a lecturer at BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is the co-founder of PixeLizard Interactive, Founding member of Andromeda Space and Robotics Research Organization, Ex-President, Co-Advisor and Governing Body Member at BRAC University Robotics Club. He was the team leader of BRAC University Chondrobot-3 (NASA Lunabotics Mining Competition-4). He has completed graduation from BRAC University on February, 2013 on Computer Science and Engineering and completed HSC from Dhaka College and SSC from Faridpur Zilla School.
He developed expertise on various fields of Engineering. He was part of the team to create first ever massively multiplayer online game in Bangladesh. He also worked on motion based gaming and simulation system.
Beside works with game engine, he has studied different fields of robotics, embedded system and Artificial Intelligence.

Event Mangement

Event management is the co-ordination, running and planning of all the people, teams and features that come together to create every kind of event. Event Management Department of Robotics Club ensures everything that is needed to make an “EVENT” successful.

Logistics

Logistics is the Manpower behind the club .In Logistics Department , We have a group of hardworking and talented people. Our objective is to make an event successful and to achieve that we do various field work and administrative work required.

Finance

ROBU has dreams and high hopes, finance works to full fill each logical financial demand of the club. Starting from planning to organizing , auditing , accounting for and controlling all the allocated finance is the responsibility of finance department.

Human resource

HR maintains the human resources of ROBU, recruits and ensures the proper implementation of it.branding and communication as well goes with HR. Being loyal to ROBU and being possessive about taking care of any kind of confidentiality also lies under the ethical responsibilities of HR. HR in short is the string that holds the whole ROBU family together .

Research and Development

ROBU is dedicated to promoting and aiding students at BRACU to develop self motivated projects. We provide the lab facilities for students to come together, find and work on projects which align with their interests. The research wing of this club is consisted with a group of students who wants to dedicated themselves to learn something new everyday.

Creative

Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. It is the ability to perceive the world in new ways, to find hidden patterns, to make connections, and to generate solutions. Creative department of ROBU is responsible for the graphics/design/animation and creation of all visual presentations and advertisements and digital prototypes for this club or for the greater benefit of robotics.
